Editorial Style Guide
°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â's Editorial Style Guide serves as a tool to ensure that the University's wide array of publications and web content maintain a consistent editorial image.
°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â's editorial style relies on the usage of American English and is drawn primarily from The Associated Press Stylebook. In some entries where there are differences, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â's style guide supersedes other sources, which have been adapted for a University setting.
For the spelling of words not listed in the guide, always use the first listed spelling in The American Heritage Dictionary. The guide also includes a listing of campus buildings and addresses; names of academic schools, departments, centers, and offices; University awards; as well as governorates, areas, and streets in Egypt. There is also a punctuation manual, in addition to social media terminologies and guidelines.
°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â's style guide is a living document that will adapt and expand in the future to meet the changing needs of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¿â community and modifications to standard usage. The Office of Marketing Communication and Public Affairs, which produces the guide, welcomes all comments, questions, and suggestions.
